The APEX Company of the Year Award of the Asia CEO Awards received by MORE Power was another in the long list of awards and recognitions it brought home for the past six years in the distribution business! The recent one is a prestigious business recognition “given to an organization that has achieved significant success and made an important contribution to the Philippine economy and society”. The APEX Company of the Year is awarded to companies that show significant innovation, contribute to economic advancement, demonstrate strategic leadership, and drive national transformation. This award recognizes MORE Power’s achievements go beyond earning profits and demonstrate meaningful impact on the country, its people, and its stakeholders.

According to the official Asia CEO Awards, the judges at the APEX award recognizes  and assesses the recipients on five major areas:

1. National economic and social impact: the company’s contribution to the Philippines’ economic development and the well-being of society.

2. Measurable business results: verifiable achievements such as revenue growth, jobs created, operational improvements, and business expansion.

3. Innovation and distinctive strategies: Initiatives that demonstrate a different, effective, or innovative approach to business challenges.

4. Contribution beyond the company: benefits to employees, communities, industries, and the country’s overall capabilities.

5. Independent, verifiable evidence: documented proof supporting the company’s accomplishments, including audited figures, third-party certifications, published reports, and credible references.

Beaming with pride, MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro, who was also a finalist in the Asia CEO Awards, received the award. “We are very happy that as an electric distribution utility, where customers sometimes think they don’t have any choice, we try to give our best to our customers in terms of rates as well as in terms of service,” he said. He was grateful for the consumers of MORE Power for its support to the company citing that the true measure of success is the extent of the benefits that consumers could enjoy.

As a distribution utility, MORE Power strengthened its services in more than six years. It capitalized on rehabilitating the substations, put up new substations, put up insulated power lines, as well as a modern and centralized monitoring system for the entire distribution utility. The company also initiated the underground cabling of JM Basa Street in Iloilo City Proper District to eliminate spaghetti wires while highlighting the beauty of the heritage sites.

MORE Power is now processing the migration of consumers in Pavia and San Miguel after it was given the Certificate of Public Convenience to operate in some parts of the Iloilo Province.

“APEX company of the year recognizes companies that have achieved something significant but more importantly companies whose success can impact beyond their own organization,” says Haidee Enriquez of Microsourcing Group.

The list finalists in the same category also included companies such as Acquire Intelligence, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Concentrix Philippines, Datamatic Global Service Corporation, Pag-IBIG Fund, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Robinsons Malls, SixEleven Global Services and Solutions, Inc.
