“Setting examples is benchmark of your capacity to succeed, leading examples will often exceed it.” – Peter Sam
Recently, officials from Muntinlupa City paid Iloilo City a visit. The visit aimed to gain insights into the Hybrid Underground Distribution System (HUDS) project implemented by MORE Power along the historic Calle Real. With Iloilo City Planning and Development Office executives, MORE Power top honchos facilitated the ocular visit of the said officials.
Topping the agenda was the discussion of innovative projects fueling Iloilo City’s urban transformation. It also emphasized on MORE Power’s landmark initiative. The exchange of ideas also focused on how “the HUDS project is specifically designed to modernize Iloilo’s infrastructure while preserving its historic charm.”
Engr. ROMAR U. DAGUPAN, Assistant City Engineer of Muntinlupa City, who expressed his appreciation for the initiatives implemented in Iloilo City, said, “It’s something that other cities aim to achieve as well. The nuisance and eyesore caused by overhead wires – especially the electrical wires, in addition to telecom lines – have become a perennial problem. Addressing this will truly contribute to the overall beautification of the city. This is a commendable initiative that the City of Muntinlupa would also like to emulate.”
Furthermore, he lauded the progress observed in Iloilo City, “We can see the significant progress here. Iloilo City is a dynamic city that embraces development while also upholding environmental protection and heritage preservation. Typically, with progress, environmental management and heritage preservation are often left behind. But here in Iloilo City, there’s a conscious effort to preserve both the environment and heritage, which is something worth emulating.”
