MORE Power Launches Harvest Festival

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seed that you plant.” – Adlai Stevenson

In celebration of its 5th anniversary, MORE Power launched Harvest Festival by gathering farmers and the City Agriculture Office. This is to support sustainability and local farmers.

Since its inception, Iloilo City’s sole power company has helped farmers by providing technological and logistical assistance.

The Harvest Festival stands as a testament to MORE Power’s long-term commitment to sustainability and community development. By maintaining the trees and plants from past initiatives, this program continues to support food security, sustainable agriculture, and local farmers in partnership with the City Agricultural Office, Allied Botanical Corporation, and Uswag Nursery.

“We recognize that this represents more than just corporate social responsibility, they symbolize the growth and journey of our company” says MA. CRISTINA D. CABALHIN, Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Affairs. “Intertwined with the wellbeing of our environment and the community. Just as the plants or the seeds we have donated flourished, we are dedicated to ensure their success.”

MORE Power employees actively participated in the harvest by purchasing the produce they gathered. It was their way of support local farmers. “Kabay pa sa MORE dugang pa gid nga support sa farmers nga luwas sang seeds may ma dugang pa gid sila support sa farmers,” says RIZALDO QUINO PORTILLO, President, Brgy. Camalig Vegetable Association.

Through seed distribution, crop monitoring, and educational activities, MORE Power ensures that past green efforts keep growing while helping farmers adopt better farming techniques.

“Not only nga naga provide sa power kag services, may ara siya part nga ginatan-aw niya ang kapakanan sa atun food providers, food sources naton,” according to IÑIGO GARINGALAO of City Agriculture Office. “Nakita naton nga isa sina sa marginalized sector naton ang atun mangunguma. Pero importante sila kay nagapakaon sila sa urban setting.”

For JANINE DIONES, Marketing Officer More Power. “This year ang goal ni MORE Power is sustainability. Gusto ta mabal-an kung may impact gid man ang seeds nga gindonate ni MORE Power. Ga conduct kami technical assistance kag educational para makatulod sa farmers kung paano sila mag tanum sang mga specific nga seeds. Gusto man namon mag introduce sang new technology sa mga farmers. Quarterly na ini siya matabo.”

For five years and beyond, MORE Power remains dedicated to powering a healthier, greener future for Iloilo City.
