“If you don’t create a great rewarding place for people to work, they won’t do great work.” – Ari Weinzweig
As it celebrates its anniversary this month, MORE Power gathered its employees for a night of fun and gave importance to their tireless dedication at work. The sole power distribution utility in Iloilo City recognized its employees for their stellar performance as it achieved its 5-year developmental plans in the metro.
ROEL Z. CASTRO, the CEO/President of MORE Power, while expressing his overwhelming happiness, said, “Your batch has endured and has stayed with the company not because you just want work but because you believe in the company, you believe in the mission that’s why you’ve stayed. I would like to sincerely congratulate the service awardees tonight that you make up almost half of our workforce.”

He admitted that working in the power industry is not an easy task especially in Iloilo City. The employees have to completely overhaul some of the facilities from the substation, the electric poles, lines and meter until the power reaches the houses of their consumers. “I know that our work is not easy. Ulan, init umaga, gabi, overtime may mga problema may trials but you’re still…. Again personally, I really congratulate all of you,” Castro added.
The Underground Distribution System is one of the biggest contributions of MORE Power! It made news not just in Iloilo City but the whole nation as well.

To name a few, the DU was also able to eradicate the illegal connection by fast-tracking the application of new consumers, and by providing 24/7 assistance.
Despite the modernization, MORE Power remains to have one of the lowest power rates in Western Visayas.
“We give the consumers the best service and for me, dalawa lang iyon. One is we give them reliable, walang outages, mura na kuryente and we treat them as our best client that we could have,” Castro added.

The ecstatic CEO/President is positive, with the continued expansion of the power company in Iloilo City and Negros, the company “will just continue to improve its performance and provide exceptional service at a reasonable cost.”
Of course, this will only be achieved through the dedication of its employees. While MORE Power’s legacy leaves its mark in the energy sector, it also gives a huge contribution in the economy of Iloilo.
