Yes, it was Boracay state of mind for the 18 candidates for Miss Iloilo 2023! From the busy streets of Iloilo City to the sandy beaches of Boracay, the ladies, along with the Miss Iloilo secretariat and creative team, were whisked from van to speedboat to coaster to La Carmela de Boracay Resort and Convention Center.
The first order of the day was a courtesy call at the Malay, Aklan Police Station. On behalf of the P/LTCOL. Don Dicksie L. de Dios, Chief of Police, Deputy COP P/Capt. Conrado S. Espino Jr. welcomed them.

After a hearty lunch, everyone got down to the business of the trip – photo and video shoot! From the pool to the beachfront of La Carmela de Boracay, the ladies sizzled in their colorful swimsuits from SM Department Store and of their personal choice. It was followed by an all-white resort wear shoot at the Hotel’s So Beachy Café and Premiere Wing Lobby. The shoot’s objective is to select the Miss Iloilo La Carmela de Boracay winner which will be chosen by the Hotel’s top management and entire staff.
The next day’s shoot schedule included a visit at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Willy’s Rock Grotto where the ladies had a wonderful crystal kayak experience. As if not enough, everyone motored on E-Trike to GT Mall for a photocall at Fiesta Souvenirs.

In between photo and video shoots, and courtesy and photo calls, the ladies enjoyed on hosted breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the different dining halls of La Carmela de Boracay, and shopping at the famed D’Mall and Talipapa. On their last night, several ladies with the members of secretariat and creative team partied at Rainbow Café and Lounge.
The trip back to Iloilo City was as smooth, organized and seamless at the trip to Boracay. Hurrah to the organizers and La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel and Convention Center management and staff for making it possible. (Photos provided by Miss Iloilo Committee)
