MIESCOR considers partnering with MORE and Negros Power.

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford

Something is brewing in the Visayas energy sector. It is a promising alliance as Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation (MIESCOR) expresses strong interest in partnering with MORE Power. This tie up aims to propel the “modernization and expansion of MORE Power’s operations in Iloilo province and its sister company, Negros Power.”

A leading provider of engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, and project management services, representatives from MIESCOR recently visited MORE Power’s headquarters in Iloilo City. They outlined the former’s interest in the collaboration.

MIESCOR executives, who jetted in from Cosmo-Manille, included President RICHARD OCHAVA, Chief Operations Officer WILFREDO BERNARDO, Engineering, Procurement, Construction Business Unit Head SAM MONTOYA. They were joined by MORE Power President and CEO ROEL CASTRO and Chief Operations Officer Engr. BAILEY Del CASTILLO in the meeting that signaled a potential for significant progress in the region’s energy landscape.

“We see a tremendous opportunity to work alongside MORE Power in their expansion plans for Iloilo and ongoing rehabilitation in Central Negros,” stated MIESCOR President RICHARD OCHAVA. “Our expertise in power infrastructure development and rehabilitation perfectly aligns with their vision for a modern and reliable energy system.”

A subsidiary of Meralco, MIESCOR has extensive experience in the power sector. It has also successfully completed numerous projects across the Philippines.

The proposed partnership, which extends beyond engineering and construction, offers to “share expertise and best practices through comprehensive training programs for MORE Power’s linemen.”

“Investing in our workforce is essential for a safe and efficient power system,” affirmed MIESCOR Chief Operations Officer WILFREDO BERNARDO. “We are committed to sharing our knowledge and experience to elevate the skills of MORE Power’s linemen.”

MIESCOR and MORE Power will also establish the Utility Attachment Office. It will manage the attachment of telephone and cable company lines to electric distribution poles. Hence, it will institutionalize the campaign to address the unsightly and often hazardous “spaghetti wiring” in Iloilo City.

MORE Power President ROEL CASTRO, in expressing his enthusiasm for the potential partnership, emphasized the shared commitment to innovation and community service. “We at MORE and Negros Power are truly grateful for MIESCOR’s interest. Their expertise in the power sector is highly respected. We believe that their involvement would be invaluable as we expand and modernize our operations in Iloilo and Negros provinces. This partnership holds great promise for achieving even greater progress in providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions for our communities.”

Rightfully so, the combination of MIESCOR’s expertise with MORE and Negros Power’s innovative approach could lead to “a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable power system for the region, ultimately benefiting the communities they serve.”
