For the love of Boracay

Nacy Hechanova, Joel Catong, Orson Orleans and yours truly ready to board one of the La Carmela de Boracay speedboats for our transfer from Caticlan to Cagban Port in Boracay.

I have always loved the beach. The smell of salty water, the wind in my face, the gentle roar of the waves all combine to create a sense of peace and calm.” – Anonymous

Nineteen days after our previous visit, we were back to Boracay, our favorite vacation destination. This time it’s for Love Boracay! Of course, La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel and Convention Center made our stay possible, comfortable and memorable, and our transfer smooth, seamless and easy.

After three years, Love Boracay was back but with tuned down events. The beaches were for clean drives, parade of sea and aqua sports activities, fun run for mental wellness, volleyball, soccer and frisbee competitions, beach music and arts festival, paraw regatta and rowing while clubs and hotels were venues for parties and supplemental and coordinated events.

As the sun sets, it was time for pizza at Cheesus Crust and cocktails at Rewind.

La Carmela de Boracay hosted a welcome dinner for us.

Oh, well, we personalized our itinerary and game plan. While we hanged out at our usual haunts and took an E-trike sightseeing tour around, we checked on new bars and restos, like Rewind, a hole in a wall with speakeasy vibe; Cheesus Crust, a must-try pizza stall; Mezze Wrap, famed for its Mediterranean dishes; and Paradise Garden for its over-the-top buffet dinner with lechon as its piece resistance!

In between dining and lunching, we went window shopping, enjoyed the sun and breeze, lounged at our favorite cafés, and engaged in “kodakan” and “chismeeting.”

Monster burger, laksa and partying at Red Coconut and Club Summer Place.

It’s posing time under the La Carmela de Boracay signage and the Apat na Lubi.

One of the highlights of our Love Boracay escapade was watching the Globe street party at Balabag Wetland Park from our vantage point at the third floor of Mezze Wrap while enjoying our fave cocktails.

The day before we went home, plans for our return has been set. Thank you, Sir BOY, LOVE, KATH, MARLON, BOYET, MILKEE, AL, RUFO and the management and staff of La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel and Convention Center for the chance to keep coming back to my home away from home in Boracay! When in Boracay, it’s La Carmela! Di bala? Mismo!
