Recently, so many things are happening at Megaworld Iloilo Business Park. In fact, Mayor JERRY P.TREÑAS and Alliance Global Group, Inc. CEO KEVIN TAN were front and center as they led the groundbreaking ceremony for ANDREW L. TAN Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) Command Center. They were joined by congresswoman YEDDA MARIE ROMUALDEZ, Congressman JAMES “Jojo” ANG, Vice Mayor JEFFREY GANZON, Megaworld Corporation Chief Operating Officer LOURDES GUTIERREZ-ALFONSO and PAGCOR Chair and CEO ALEJANDRO TENGCO.
The guest list also included members of the Iloilo City Council and officials of Bureau of Fire and Iloilo City Police Office, Iloilo City Hall Department Heads, Barangay Officials and Megaworld Iloilo executives.

The 6th ICARE Facility in Metro-Iloilo, the two-storey, 2500 square meter (sqm) command center at Megaworld Iloilo Business Park pools together the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), Iloilo City Emergency Responders (ICER), Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), barangays, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel for faster action and mobilization. It shall also house the Barangay Hall of Barangay Airport, the Mandurriao Health Center, and the City Library.
On the Iloilo Business Park ICARE Center, a 33M project for the PNP and BFP stations will be implemented. According to architects and engineers, to completer the project, an additional P47 million will be need for the Barangay Hall and Health Center of Barangay Airport Mandurriao and the library for Mandurriao.

“Another milestone for Iloilo City as we had our groundbreaking ceremony of the ICARE Satellite Command Center at Megaworld,” Mayor JERRY P. TREÑAS said in his speech. “This will be established to immediately respond to emergencies and urgent situations around the city to add to our existing centers. This facility will include an ambulance, a police patrol, and a fire truck. This is another project that we are looking forward to inaugurating very soon that will contribute to the overall welfare of the Ilonggos.”

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of an original CESAR ARRO painting to KEVIN TAN by Mayor JERRY P. TREÑ as a sign of the latter’s gratitude for all that he former has done for Iloilo City. “I am very happy about this partnership with Megaworld. Wins like this are indeed worth celebrating, and we couldn’t have done all these without the strong support from the private sector.
