Located in the confines of Casa Riviera in San Antonio, Oton, the restaurant offers a range of slow-cooked food.
Slow cooking is a culinary method used to cook food slow over period of time. In Philippine setting, the traditional food preparation is done in palayok, an earthen pot, in low fire, seasoned in traditional way, and served in old world family style.
We enjoyed on Spanish-Filipino fusion dished, like Fried Lumpia, Beef Cucido, Salpicao, Adobo sa Buko, Adobo sa Atsuete, binakol, Spanish-style Bangrus, Sinugbang Talong with Giniling, Itlog Pula with Kamatis, and Kamote Cake.
Dining on sartin plates, the gastronomic experience reminded me of the summer vacations at my maternal grandparents’ plantation house in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
Taking pride in its slow food concept and palayok specials, Pepe’s Palayok now accepts events for minimum of 10 to maximum of 50 persons with two days prior notice.
