Borascapade with friends

“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”Tim Cahill

Boracay, definitely one of the best beaches in the world, has always been our gang’s favorite vacation destination. With its white sand and amazing sunset, we keep coming back. Our latest escapade coincided with the observance of the Holy Week. Thus, it was more of reflection and less of partying. But it didn’t slowed us down in patronizing once again our fave restos and bistros, and trying new ones.

All set for the Black and Fan themed hosted dinner at Pool Deck of La Carmela De Boracay.

Of course, our home away from home in the island was the popular La Carmela de Boracay Resort and Convention, a hip and hop away from the epicenter of island vibe. The management gave us the most comfortable accommodations and most efficient service from Day 1 to Day 5 from Caticlan to the Hotel. Yes, we had five fun days of fun in the island!

Minutes after checking in, we headed to Jasper’s for a hearty lunch, followed by a walkabout on the beachfront. Muy simpatico BOY SO of La Carmela de Boracay Resort and Convention Center hosted a welcome seafood dinner for us. The theme of the night was Black and Fan.

Our next stop was at Rainbow Lounge and Cafê for a riotous drag show. We capped the night at Club Summer Place.

It’s posing time at the reclining coconut tree in Balabag.

It’s shopping spree for Nacy Hechanova, Joel Catong and Orson Orleans.

The next day was Tour Day. After a filling breakfast at the Poolside of La Carmela de Boracay, sightseeing and “kodakan” at Key Hole in Newcoast and reclining coconut tree in Balabag, we checked Lazy Dog for lunch. We were not disappointed; the ambience and food were great. Its Banana Loaf is a must try!

Halo-Halo at So Beachy Café

With our ROY-G-B (minus indigo and violet) and white ensemble, we enjoyed a pizza and pasta dinner at Aria. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were at Haven.

We took things easy the following day as it was Good Friday: breakfast and hosted lunch at the Poolside of La Carmela de Boracay, and seafood dinner at La Plaza of Feliz Hotel.

The next two days went fast: lunches at Henann Palm Beach Resort and Grand Boracay Resort, dinners at Hap Chan and Pig Out (after the Easter Sunday mass), and partying at Masons de Paris Boracay and Jardin Mediterranean Cuisine.

In between lunches, dinners, partying and sightseeing, we did our little shopping and a lot of haggling at the Boracay’s famed Talipapa and D’Mall, and loads of reflections, prayers and meditations.

Halo-Halo at So Beachy Café of La Carmela de Boracay Resort and Convention Center is a sweet solution to hot days, and its Convenience Store is an after-party must-try option!

Special thanks to Boy So and Family, Love, Kath, Alma, Tony, Milkie, Boyet, Marlon, Al and Rufo for making our stay at La Carmela de Boracay Resort and Convention Center wonderful and memorable. See you sooner than soon!
